The Guidance Office at Hamburg School is
available to help any students and or
parents with any questions or problems
that they may have. Students need
permission from a teacher to make an
appointment with the guidance counselor.
Parents may feel free to call to arrange
an appointment with our school guidance
counselor, Mrs. Yezuita at
(973)-827-7570 ext. 215 on Mon.-Wed.
Some of the services the school guidance
counselor provides are:
1.
To promote congenial relationships among
students.
2.
To provide assistance with student
academic problems.
3.
To provide assistance with student
personal problems.
4.
To counsel students according to the
school discipline code.
5.
To assist the students in transition
from elementary school to middle
school/high school.
6.
To help coordinate school-wide student
testing.
7.
To offer suggestions to parents
concerning academics, discipline,
socialization and available community
resources.
8.
To provide assistance teachers in
handling certain classroom situations.
9.
To provide character education lessons
in each classroom to promote the over
all well being of the students. Topics
may include self-esteem, coping skills,
decision making, peer relations,
responsibility, and citizenship.
10.
To arrange for programs, guest speakers,
and assemblies relating to the Character
Education Program.
11.
To greet new students and provide an
orientation to Hamburg School. |
