Mrs. Hearn's Class
Math Grades 6-8

Welcome to our new math curriculum, Connected Math 2.   Through this program, students will be investigating mathematical concepts individually and in groups in order to problem solve on their own with guidance from the teacher.  Technology is incorporated throughout the curriculum across all three grade levels.

Hamburg School will be providing students with new Texas Instrument (TI-73) calculators.  In addition, our math classrooms are now equipped with Interwrite boards to supplement and enhance the math curriculum through technology.

The 6th grade curriculum will cover number sense, fractions, decimals, percents, geometry, and measurement, probability, and basic statistics.

The 7th grade curriculum will cover an introduction to algebra, similarity, ratios, proportions, percents, integers, linear relationships, measurements, probability, and data analysis

The 8th grade curriculum will cover pre-algebra, linear and non-linear functions, the Pythagorean Theorem, exponential relationships, quadratic patterns, symmetry, symbolic expressions, linear inequalities, and statistics
